Hall County is the 2022 GAAO Office of Excellence

The Hall County Assessors Office was recognized as the inaugural recipient of the GAAO Office of Excellence award at the GAAO Fall Business Meeting on Monday, October 17, 2022. The Office of Excellence award is presented to a GAAO Member Office that has made an outstanding contribution to the assessment industry, exemplifying the characteristics of excellence, especially during the previous 12-month period (Aug 1st to July 31st every year). To be eligible, counties were nominated in the month of August and were required to answer a comprehensive questionnaire developed by the GAAO Membership/Promotions subcommittee for the Office of Excellence award, which was instrumental in the creation of this award.

Chief Appraiser Steve Watson and Deputy Chief Appraiser John Smith, the 2022 recipient of the GAAO Member of the year award, accepted the award on behalf of the Hall County Assessors Office. Hall County continues to be a great partner to other member counties throughout the state. They faced stiff competition from other offices who exhibit the same virtues of excellence exhibited within the Hall County Assessors office. Thank you to all the counties participating in this process. Congratulations to Hall County for this prestigious designation!
